[MS] Hujjah Allah al-Balighah by Shah Waliyy Allah al-Dihlawi: An Introduction

Abstract

Many Islamic scholars left great masterpieces that continue to be relevant and become reference until now. Such work should be highlighted for Muslims to acquire various benefits contained within. Therefore, this study aimed to introduce Hujjah Allah al-Balighah by Shah Waliyy Allah al-Dihlawi, an ulama’ from India in the 18th century. The introduction of the manuscript such as title, theme, originality translation, summary and review of the manuscript. In addition, this study also introduces its prolific writer, Shah Waliyy Allah. Library research method based on qualitative research through content analysis design was used entirely in the data collection and analysis process. From the analysis of the document, the introduction of the work of Hujjah Allah was elucidated to understand the big picture of the manuscript. The study found that the manuscript of Hujjah Allah was a manuscript of magnum opus of Shah Waliyy Allah. This manuscript has its own unique character as it itself is a manuscript in the form of an encyclopedia which contains various valuable knowledge.
