[ARB] Istikhdām al-Istratijiyyāt fī fahmi an-Nuṣūṣ al-ʽArabīyyah lada Ṭalabah an-Nāṭiqīn bi ghayri al-ʽArabīyyah The Usage of Strategies in Understanding Arabic Texts Among Non-Arabic Speakers’ Students

Abstract

Through the experience of learning Arabic at the primary or secondary school, students are
expected to improve their reading skills, practice and study of Arabic subjects at higher levels.
Thus, this study was conducted to evaluate usage of the strategies in understanding Arabic texts
among non-Arabic speakers’ students. However, in university level they could not understand
the Arabic texts well. The purpose of this study is to find out the level knowledge of strategies
in understanding Arabic texts. The researcher randomly distributing test questions to the
students. The method used in this study is quantitative method which is using questionnaire
instrument. The researcher then analyses using the Statistical Analysis Program (SPSS) in terms
of descriptive analysis of its frequency, percentage and average value. This study found out that
majority of respondents agree that there are strategies in understanding Arabic texts and the
strategies also really help them to understand Arabic text in a proper way.
