Abstract

The Malaysian government through the National Agro-Food Policy (NAP) 2011-2020 is a transformation enacted by the Government to improve the country's productivity and food quality. However, there are shortcomings in the realization of achieving food self-sufficiency countries of at least 70%. This study examined the needs of basic food supplies of rice and rice in accordance with the Islamic perspective. The research methodology used in this study design the content analysis, the data were analyzed through descriptive approach with a combination of qualitative approach that analyzes the text includes analyzing documents such as official reports, circulars, annual reports, reports of departments, financial plans, reports agencies, and transcripts. The study found that the concept of jurisprudence awlawiyyah in improving the quality of food, income country, stressing that halal food products and clean. The study suggests basic food needs take precedence over particular agencies such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry must be given attention. National Agro-Food Policy and is expected to play a role in promoting the growth of the agricultural sector and the development of farmers in line with the development of Islam comprehensively.
